I've always loved this book, there's just something about it that draws me back every few years, and I find myself re-reading it for the first time with new eyes. The story is one that takes me by surprise often enough that I have to read it at least once a decade to truly appreciate its complexities. This particular edition of the book has been my go-to choice for reading in bed without the aid of a lectern, where I can feel like I'm getting lost in its world again.
It's the big, hardcover version that really holds up, with beautifully illustrated pages and a weighty feel that makes it feel substantial. I have to admit that even after re-reading this book for years, I still get caught up in the world of characters and storylines, forgetting entirely about the movie trilogy that preceded it.
